Four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a floor you can all fit on
La Crème was built as a family house and works as one. The living floor is open end to end, the bedrooms are upstairs and under the eaves, and the games room is far enough away that the two never interfere.

Living room
Sofas on one side, the table on the other
A deep leather corner sofa takes one half of the room, the dining table the other, and the glass fire stands between them so both sides get it. Slate underfoot, warm cove lighting overhead, and a flat-screen with Telenet channels when the weather sends you indoors.
Kitchen
Equipped to actually cook
Five gas burners, two built-in ovens and a dark worktop long enough for more than one pair of hands. Crockery, pans and utensils for eight are all in the cupboards.
You arrive to a basic starter pack — dishcloths, sponges, detergent — so the first shop can wait until you feel like going.
Bedrooms
Four rooms, sleeping eight
Beds are made up with soft linen before you arrive, and towels are provided — no arriving with a car full of bedding. The rooms under the eaves have their own character, with deep-set windows and sloping ceilings.

Bathrooms
A rain shower and a bath wide enough for two
Dark tile, a walk-in shower with a rain head, and a deep double bath set under a skylight — the sort of bath you run after a cold walk on the beach rather than because you have to.
Two bathrooms in total, so eight people are not queuing on a Saturday morning.
Sauna
Dry heat, whenever you want it
A roomy cedar-lined dry sauna with its own controls, included with the house.
It sits in the same converted garage as the pool table and the darts board, which is why guests tend to end up down there for the evening.

The room that makes it a group holiday
Pool table, darts and leather sofas, in a converted garage away from the bedrooms — so some of the party can carry on while anyone who wants to sleep can.
One thing we do ask: Violierenlaan is a quiet residential street and the neighbours are close, so the volume comes down after 22:00.
Terrace
Walled, paved and properly furnished
A rattan lounge set at one end, a dining table at the other, and a charcoal barbecue ready to go. High walls on every side keep the sea breeze off, which on this coast is the difference between sitting out and giving up.

Good to know
- Check-in is flexible, but arranged ahead. A La Crème phone number comes with your booking confirmation — call it at least a day before you arrive to agree a time. Check-out is before 10:00.
- Maximum eight guests. A high chair is available for a small one.
- The house has a lot of stairs and they are unavoidable, so it does not suit guests with limited mobility. We would rather say so than have you find out on arrival.
- Minimum stay two nights. No pets, and no smoking indoors — the terrace is walled and sheltered, so it is no hardship.
- Quiet after 22:00. This is a residential street with neighbours close by — we ask everyone to keep the noise down from ten, indoors and on the terrace alike.
